Swadhi Ranganee

Swadhi Ranganee is an emerging artist who practices Sinhalese Kandyan and low-country traditional and folk dance, which she has been learning for over 20 years. Through her work, she tries to create modern expressions for these forms, while maintaining their aesthetic markers. Always a student, she frequently trains across styles, and is currently immersed in latin, kathak, and contemporary dance. She has performed in numerous festivals and programmes, including Nightshift and Nuit Blanche. In her spare time, she researches and writes about Sinhalese performance arts, as she is passionate about bringing these to wider recognition.
