The Deep End Week(end) is a creative immersion combining stimulating conversations and joyous surprising, collaborations. It ends with a free public presentation by the participants of the choreography created over the Weekend.
The Deep End Week(end) provides dance artists who have trained in movement and theatre forms of the South Asian diaspora the opportunity to recognize their art as vital and essential to contemporary Canadian culture.
In the course of 2-7 days, participants collaborate with, listen to and discuss with established Canadian artists from diverse cultural backgrounds and come from story-telling, dance, theatre, opera, poetry and many other art forms.
The Deep End Week(end) is a unique opportunity for artists to venture outside the comfort zone of traditional South Asian dance forms in a supportive and challenging environment with a wide range of aesthetics, artists and ideas.
