Mentorship
“The meeting of two personalities is like the contact of two chemical substances: if there is any reaction, both are transformed.” - Carl Jung
At Nova Dance mentorship is collaborative. We believe that artists make the world a better place so when they share their artistic dreams and desires with us, we do our best to find a way to help. We also know that having intergenerational artists working with us is essential to our ability to be relevant and responsive. (Its also a ton of fun!)
We have worked with a number of artists, assisting them to access funds in order to offer them paid, self-directed professional development opportunities working with the company. In turn they have brought us energy and ideas, playing a vital role in our ongoing evolution.
Funders who have supported this programme are: Canada Council for the Arts, Ontario Arts Council’s Access and Career Development, Chalmers Fellowship programs, The George Cedric Metcalf Foundation’s Performing Arts Internship program , British Columbia Arts Council and Edmonton Arts Council.
