Winchester Street Theatre
dance Immersion’s 30th Anniversary Season begins with the studio presentation of Rhodnie Désir’s BOW’T TRAIL Retrospek. In 2013, dance Immersion presented a brief excerpt of the very beginnings of this dance piece in one of our Showcases. Rhodnie has since expanded the piece into a journey named BOW’T TRAIL, touring the Americas for research and development and performing the work globally. The choreographer, driven by a desire and a need to transcend her origins, has been carrying research in the Americas since 2015 to immerse herself with the African cultures and rhythms deployed by the peoples who were taken there. On its 10-year anniversary, and our 30th, BOW’T TRAIL Retrospek will return to Toronto for the first time since that 2013 debut. This studio event is a pre-cursor to the performance of the full mainstage BOW’T TRAIL Retrospek that dance Immersion plans to present in Toronto in April 2025.
Oct 19 – 21
Betty Oliphant Theatre
Join the world premiere of “Spectrum of Connection”, choreographed by Little Pear Garden’s Artistic Director Emily Cheung. This piece is inspired by Chinese calligraphy, a form of communication from thousands of years ago, but is also seen as a form of art. “Spectrum of Connection” touches on the concept of globalization, the way people travel and migrate from one place to another. From losing contact in the past and reuniting or forming new connections in the future; taking a look into different forms of communication stemming from our history to our present time.

Mallo Coffee & Bar
The excitement of dance, the music of poetry, the intimacy of duets over wine, beer, and nocturnal spirits. These events will highlight emerging/professional poets and dancers working together for the first time for an intimate evening of performance at Mallo Coffee & Bar. This special evening will highlight two poets and two dancers performing in the unique space of Mallo Coffee & Bar. Our first night will feature Lisa Shen with Lucía Llano and and Jasper Bryan with Rajvi Dedhia. Come mingle, meet some new people and enjoy some short performances by some talented movers and poets.
Nov 1 – 4
The Citadel
In PUS, two funny women grapple with their calcifying imaginations, their ghosts, and their need to scream (sing) about the passage of time. It’s a variety show, a dance spectacle, and an intimate interview about the things that make us itch.
