Engaging with Dance this Fall
As the leaves change colours and the autumn air gets crisp, find the pockets of warmth for you mind and spirit by engaging with art this “spooky season” of October! From festivals to exhibits, we share some of the incredible art Toronto has to offer this month:

Junction Street Theatre

CORPUS’ internationally acclaimed street performances offer expressive and temporary street art in accessible locations for large and diverse audiences to enjoy.
Oct 15 – 29
Theatre Passe Muraille
“The Cello, relentless, eternal, infinite in its beauty. I want to drown in its sound” Wen and her friend Li-An are forever changed by their encounter with the Cellist, whose music unlocks all that was left unspoken. Co-created by Marjorie Chan and Njo Kong Kie, The Year of the Cello is told poetically, alongside live cello music culminating in a lament for loves lost, and a Hong Kong that once was.
Oct 20 – 22, 8PM EDT
The Fleck Dance Theatre
Inspired by the journey from adolescence to adulthood, the work embraces the stories of its creator and three emerging female performers, with the support of live pianist, Jeanie Chung, and emerging dramaturge, Dedra McDermott. Set in a wintry landscape in Quebec City, the work explores the interior lives of three young women on the cusp of adulthood, alternating between the utter wonderment and discovery of youth and the uncertainty and loneliness of adolescence. Don’t miss this Compagnie de la Citadelle production.
Nov 2 – 5, 8PM EDT

After being absent on stage for 3 years, ProArteDanza returns with its annual fall season. With an increased sense of loneliness experienced by many, ProArteDanza reconnects with a mixed programme featuring work by Lesley Telford, Syreeta Hector, Roberto Campanella and Chantelle Good.
