April 2-14
The Citadel
Citadel Spring Mix is a new and exciting annual dance series featuring works by some of Canada’s most talented artists. A new joint initiative with The National Ballet of Canada’s CreativAction Programme, with support from DanceWorks, Citadel Spring Mix brings together new works by Toronto-based artists alongside established works by Montreal-based artists for 12 days of exceptional dance sure to provoke, move and inspire. Join us April 2 – 14, 2024 to witness the incredible works on offer. Featuring Nova dance artists Rachana Joshi, Eilish Shin-Culhane and Purawai Vyas.

The Citadel
KasheDance celebrates its 15th anniversary with a mesmerizing Retrospek, an exploration of the past, the present and a creative vision for its future in Black dance in Canada. Led by Kevin A. Ormsby and the newly announced Assistant Artistic Director Jillia Cato, the company invites you on an exploration of choreographies steeped in the rhythms, movements, and culture of Caribbean, African, and Diaspora culture, as well as social/human rights advocacy.

Buddies in Badtimes Theatre
Les Femmes Fatales was founded by Boss Lady, Madam in Charge, Ex-Church girl and Nova Dance team member Dainty Smith in 2010. Les Femmes Fatales is a burlesque troupe made up primarily of black women and women of colour and their allies. Les Femmes Fatales are women who are fiercely sexy, defiantly glamorous, tender and brilliant, survivors who rock our war wounds with red lipstick, pasties, high heels and straight up attitude. Women without rules, living by our own rules. This month’s TUFF STUFF series features Nova Dance artistic associate, Neena Jayarajan!

dance Immersion presents CinnaMoon Collective’s “Surrendered Spirits” on a double-bill with Pulga Muchochoma’s “MÀSCARA”! This premiere contemporary dance event features performances by Nickeshia Garrick, Irma Villafuerte, Viktor Kei, Pulga Muchochoma, and Kobèna Aquaa-Harrison. Though they are distinct pieces, both commissions investigate themes of ancestral legacy, displacement, and the impacts of immigrant experiences.
